Flight Alert API is transitioning to a credit-based billing system, replacing the current lifetime-based model.
What changes
- Creating flight alert subscriptions becomes free and subscriptions never expire.
- You maintain a dedicated Flight Alert credit balance that is deducted each time an alert is sent (1 credit per flight item in a notification).
- Credits are refilled through the API at a rate of 1 credit = 1 API unit.
- Delivery retries are now opt-in: no retries by default, unless you request them when creating a web-hook.
What you need to do
If you are already using Flight Alert API, adjust your integration before April 4, 2026 to prevent service interruption. During the transition period, both billing systems remain operational.
